The deadline to register online for the fall primary is July 20.
Have you moved since you last voted? You can update your address online.
After July 20, you can register or update your address at your early voting location or polling place on Election Day.
Make sure you have a proof of residence document for registration.
Be an Informed Voter
Voters will cast their ballots for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, state legislature, state treasurer, secretary of state and other local and judicial races. In the primary election, voters will determine which candidate for each party will advance to the Nov. 8 election.

Wisconsin has open primaries. This means that voters don't register with a party in order to vote in the primary election. Voters choose which party's primary they want to vote in when completing their ballot. Learn more about it here and scroll down for a helpful visual.
Vote Absentee
Request your absentee ballot at MyVote
It's better to request a ballot sooner rather than later so you can mail it in at least a week prior to August 9.

Returning your ballot: Drop boxes are no longer permitted in Wisconsin. If you don't have enough time to mail in your ballot, you can drop it off at your clerk's office, early voting site, or polling place (or central count location for communities that use central count.
Vote Early
Early voting starts at the end of July. Dates and times vary by municipality.
Election Day Voting
Election Day is August 9.
Don't forget to double-check your polling place location.
Finding Help
Because of new rules, voters are only permitted to drop off their own absentee ballot. If you need a disability-related accommodation, contact your clerk to ask for one.
